Chuck Daly

Chuck Daly passed away today, 78 years old.

Detroit Legend, best Pistons coach of my lifetime. Ran a Bad Boys team with a lot of egos, and did amazing job of handling the egos and making them into a team. Coached the Dream Team as well. Coaching resume is hard to match in Michigan Sports.

Lived a long, amazing life.

Rest in peace coach

That Rondo Kid Can Play a Little Ball

well, that and the fact that Eddie House was channeling some Arizona State type fire.

"That's what happens when you bustin someone's ass. They hit you in the head." HaHa, Eddie Heezee is the man.

In the first round, Rajon Rondo was single rebound away from averaging a triple double. In a tough 7 game series, that is insane. His assist to turnover ratio in the playoffs is absolutely unreal. It seems every night he has 14+ assists and 1 or 2 turnovers. Haters, it's true that players like Eddie House and Ray Allen have helped his assist totals. But, to be honest no one can stay in front of Rondo right now. His quickness and overall athleticism is unmatched in the East. The uptempo style since KG went down has shown off Rondo's game. Rondo blows by the defense at will, the opposing big steps up and Rondo dishes off to Big Baby or Perkins, and they have done a great job of finishing.

Tonight's game was over early, and I for one don't think the Magic have enough to beat the Celtics. Even if they don't have KG for one single second. While it is true that Dwight can have his way down low, that is just not the Magic's style. Their style is to almost use Dwight as a decoy. Have the defense worry about the inside, and beat you from the outside. Orlando shoots more 3s than anyone in the league. Rajon Rondo is having his way, and Ray Allen is still playing like a young Mr. Shuttlesworth. Paul Pierce is yet to get going, and I am pretty sure that in the next 5 games, in at least one of them he will be the reason Boston wins.

Eddie House was sizzlin tonight. Just scorching. Hitting shots that most players wouldn't have the guts to even attempt. He has a quick release, and absolutely no concience. House had 31 points on 11/14 and 4/4 3pt. He was so hot that Rafer Alston lost his head and slapped him in the head. Alston could easily be facing a 1 game suspension for his idiotic decision. Orlando had no answer for Boston's hot shooting, and to me they are the most overrated team in the NBA. They are far from contenders, and considered one in the East by most.

All Defense Includes League's Top Players

KG/Dwight/Bron

Kobe n CP3

Reminds of the hay day of the NBA when the best players in the league where on the All Defensive Team year after year.

*2nd team included Artest, Battier, D Wade, Rondo, and Tim Duncan.

D Wade is Talking Contract

The Free Agent Class of 2010, which has almost took the importance out of the 2008-09, and 2009-10 seasons in the NBA for some teams may be taking it's first hit soon.

Dwyane Wade of the Heat is now talking contract with the Heat. That will be the first big name taking off the market before the 2010 Free Agent period even gets here.

I am assuming Wade will resign, and he is not going to be the only one. The class of 2010 is really deep, and has a ton of all-star quality players, but losing D Wade still hurts.

The NBA has to be hoping that Lebron does not resign in Cleveland before the 2010 hits, or they will lose one of their most talked about subjects.

The Team No One Talks About

While everyone has been talking about the Lakers, Kobe, Lebron, Cleveland, Superman, and the Boston/Chicago series there has been a little team from the West kicking people's butts for a couple weeks now.

The Denver Nuggets are a complete basketball team that appears to believe in themselves far more than the rest of the nation does. Chauncey Billups runs the show, and he has talent around him. Carmelo Anthony, Kenyon Martin, and Nene have been helping him all year, and it seems like until the Western Conference Finals no one is going to pay attention to them.

Billups has gone through this before in Detroit and won a title, and Melo has been overlooked for the likes of D Wade and Bron his whole career. The chips on their shoulders may never leave, or maybe they will. We will just have to see.

Tonight, the Nuggets dismanted the Mavericks behind a solid team effort. Billups, Anthony, Nene, Kmart, Birdman, and JR Smith all did their things, and the Nuggets looked like a much better team than their opponents. If this keeps up this will be a short series. Dallas is a very good team so I expect a response, but I am not sure it will matter if Denver keeps it up like this.

I know people are not supposed to talk like this, but right now, the Nuggets are a better team than that team in California led by #24. Sorry Mr. Stern, you might get an uninvited guest to the NBA Finals.

Championship Caliber

Cavaliers look like a championship team, how do you beat this squad?

It's Lebron's world, and the rest of the NBA is just payin' rent.

True story. Cavaliers started out the game a bit rusty, but when they turned it on, the Hawks looked like the Expos (you get the point).

Lebron is on his own planet right now basketball wise, and he is going to get better in the next few years. This is scary, I feel you put him on any team in basketball and they are instantly a title contender.

I think they are going to go 12-0 in the East, but I will just about guarantee 10-0.

If the Lakers do their part we will get Lakers/Cavs, the meeting of the two best teams in the league, and the two best players in the league as well.

Cavs 99 Hawks 72

Monday Recap

Orlando 95 Boston 90
Orlando exploded out to a 28 point lead in this game only to watch the Celtics get to within 4 with about a minute to go. Ray Allen had a wide open 3 and it rimmed out. The Magic had 6 guys in double figures, and stayed away from what would have been a terrible loss. The Celtics looked like they just came off of a Game 7. Ray Allen and Rondo combined for 4/24 shooting and the Celtics still barely lost. I know the final score shows Orlando with the win, but I think if I am a Celtics fan, I am OK with this game.

Houston 100 LA Lakers 92
Houston led throughout. Great execution, good shooting, and a crowd around Kobe every time he got inside the 3pt line. Yao is really, really good. He gets doubled almost every time he gets it inside, and the 7'5 giant hits 20 footers in the clutch. The man can play, and this team is very, very good. This will be a long series, thank god T-Mac is not there to ruin this team. The role players for Houston will decide this series, if Brooks, Scola, Battier, and the rest of the guys can play that way throughout, the Lakers could get shocked here. Im not sure any team in the league matches up with the Lakers as good as Houston.
